Kelly Clarkson has delivered a real return to form with the first tasters of her new album Chemistry. The latest of these tracks is the electro-tinged, banjo-laden mid-tempo i hate love. The aforementioned banjo comes courtesy of comedy legend Steve Martin, with the star getting a namecheck in the track’s lyrics as Clarkson sings “So you can keep Gosling and I’ll take Steve Martin,” in her rejection of romance.

On the album’s title, Kelly shares: “Having chemistry with someone is an incredible, and overwhelming, feeling. It’s like you have no choice in the matter. You are just drawn to each other. This can be good and bad. This album takes you down every path that chemistry could lead you down.”
