July's first official 90s on tap in Chicago, with possible severe weather in tow…

Official 90º tally is on par with last year’s total and what’s typical by July 11—but the mercury has yet to reach the hot 90° weather benchmark so far this month at O’Hare
Since records began 66 years ago at O’Hare, only 14 other years have failed to reach 90+ degrees the first 11 days of July. A typical FULL July sees about eight 90 degree or warmer days.
Heat and humidity build over the weekend and continue through Tuesday…
Sunday forecast highs:
- 260 million residents forecast to see high temperatures at or above 90 degrees
- 26 million residents to see high temperatures at or above 100 degrees

Monday forecast highs:
- 261 million residents predicted to see high temperatures at or above 90 degrees
- 27 million residents to swelter in triple digit temperatures

Tuesday forecast highs:
- 251 million residents predicted to reach 90 degrees or warmer
- 36 million to swelter in stifling 100 degree or warmer temperatures

As a prod of the intense heat moves east into the Midwest, there’s also the risk for strong or severe thunderstorms
The Chicago area sits in a risk for possible severe weather Saturday night, Sunday night and again Monday night.
