Some were found in a locked closet beside a 1960s Chevrolet Corvette at the property in Wilmington, Delaware.
Six pages, not one as previously claimed, were discovered in Biden’s library there.
Others turned up in his old Washington offices.
The papers, some of which could cause “exceptionally grave damage” to the US in the wrong hands, date from when Biden, 80, was Barack Obama’s vice-president between 2009 and 2017.
Among them were papers Biden used in a call with a British PM, it has emerged.
A note indicated it was made between 2013 and 2016, meaning it must be David Cameron or Theresa May.
The White House said the files had been “inadvertently misplaced”.
