INVERNESS, Fla. — The Inverness City Council will vote Tuesday on potential changes to the city’s alcohol ordinance.

The current ordinance limits selling and consuming alcohol at outdoor events to just beer and wine. It has been that way since 2022.

But some business owners are pushing for liquor to be allowed as well, saying it’s a way to bring in more money.

The city manager of Inverness disagrees, saying the city has not seen any negative impacts from the current ordinance.

There will be a public forum before the vote.

The meeting will be at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall, 212 W. Main St.
