Human skeletal remains found in abandoned shed in open field in southwest Houston

HOUSTON – An investigation is underway after human remains were found inside an abandoned shed in an open field Saturday in southwest Houston, according to the Houston Police Department.

The discovery was made around 4 p.m. at 9400 Portal Drive.

Officers responded to reports of a body being found inside of the shed.

The identity, gender and cause of death are pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

The investigation is pending autopsy results.
