By now you’ve probably heard that GQ is dropping its first-ever digital art NFTs. With 1,661 tokens, the GQ3 Issue 001: Change Is Good collection is offering unprecedented access to the GQ universe with exclusive experiences and limited-edition swag—and some stunning one-of-one digital art from a diverse group of exciting creatives.
We brought together graphics wizard Chuck Anderson, AI futurist REO, punk-drawing master Kelsey Niziolek, and anime-adjacent rising star Serwah Attafuah for this collection, given you a chance to meet them, and even shared some previews of their work.
So how do you actually buy a GQ3 NFT? And most importantly, what do you get when you do?
How do you get one?
GQ3 Issue 001 tokens are on the Ethereum blockchain, so you need a digital wallet. But you don’t need to buy any cryptocurrency if you don’t want to—you can pay with a credit card, if that’s your jam.
Step 1: Set up a digital wallet
You’ll need a digital wallet to store your GQ3 Issue 001 NFT. Luckily, there are a bunch of options to choose from. Metamask is a popular one, with easy-to-follow instructions on how to set one up. Just remember: It’s important to read through all the security info when setting up a digital wallet to make sure you can keep your credentials secure.
Step 2: Get on the allow list
If you’re on this page, we’re releasing special access to the allow list just for you, as a GQ reader. Hit this link, and if you’re one of the first 200 to do so, you’ll be on the list to mint starting at 1 p.m. EST on Wednesday. If that list is closed, and you didn’t make it in the first 200, you’ll still be able to purchase during the public sale—that starts at 2 p.m EST on Wednesday, March 8. Of course, you can also follow GQ3 on Twitter or join GQ3 on Discord for other opportunities to join the allow list.
Step 3: Visit GQ3.io on 8 March to buy one
On Wednesday, March 8, you will be able to buy a GQ3 Issue 001 token on GQ3.io. If you have an allow-list spot you can purchase one before the public sale opens. But if you don’t — don’t worry! You can still purchase during the public sale if tokens are still available. The process is simple once you get to GQ3.io – you’ll click on Mint to connect your digital wallet and pay with cryptocurrency, or click Pay With Card and connect your digital wallet after payment.
Step 4: View your GQ3 Issue 001 artwork
The GQ3 Issue 001 collection is dropping as a blind mint. A blind mint means that you’ll mint without knowing exactly which artwork you’ll receive—ensuring that everyone has an equal chance to get artwork from all of our spotlighted artists. It’ll also create an exciting surprise when the artwork is revealed on Thursday, March 9. We will be celebrating the art reveal on GQ3 on Twitter and GQ3 on Discord, so come join us.
