‘Django Gold: Bag of Tricks’
When to watch: Now, on YouTube.

This new hour from Django Gold has an almost old-school vibe, an emphasis on joke-jokes and not just on funny stories. His comedic rhythm feels like a throwback, with a lot of zingers and jokes that rely on audience laughter as a sort of ellipsis between punchlines. “Bag” is not particularly intimate or confessional, but Gold’s specifics still feel special, poetic even. Of course Silicon Valley execs are too detached to make an AI capable of “channeling the clumsy grace of the human soul or whatever.” “Imagine how bad that guy’s pillow case smells,” he says of a tedious troll. If you love Norm MacDonald’s delivery style, watch this.

‘Glow Up’
When to watch: Now, on Netflix.

This British competition series for aspiring makeup artists has the requisite kooky judge (“ding dong!” is her highest praise) and total emotional buy-in from its teary contestants. Perhaps the most interesting angle, though, is that the artists seem … just OK at doing makeup. “Top Chef” this is not; most participants are in an early or even pre-career stage, and a quick spin through Instagram or TikTok would surface plenty of more advanced work. While nothing will ever hit the highs of “Face Off,” the competition show for special effects makeup, “Glow Up” is a ton of fun and a golden keep-me-company show.

‘Crazy Fun Park’
When to watch: Arrives Sunday, on Hulu.

Chester and Mapplethorpe (Henry Strand and Stacy Clausen) are best friends, and nothing can break that bond. Not even Mapplethorpe’s dying at a defunct amusement park. Luckily, his ghost (or something) gets to stick around the grounds of Crazy Fun Park, and not only can Chester visit; there are other undead pals hanging around, too. “Crazy” has some earnest-show-for-young-viewers DNA, but it also has a mature melancholy and a punchy sense of humor. If you like “Ghosts” but wish it were an Australian teen show, or if “Wednesday” lacked the coming-of-age energy you crave, watch this.
