According to Rod Boone of the Charlotte Observer, the Charlotte Hornets are waiving guard Reggie Jackson. This follows weeks of expectations that he was never going to stay on the roster.

It’s the second time the Hornets have acquired Jackson and the second time they’ve waived him without even making him a jersey. First, he was acquired from the Clippers as part of the Mason Plumlee trade. He was bought out so he could sign with the Nuggets. Then the Nuggets gave him back to the Hornets in a salary dump so the Hornets could buy him out again. His next stop is reportedly the 76ers.
Boone has been saying for a couple weeks that the Hornets were expected to waive Jackson, and I think the vast majority of people assumed this was coming as well. The team never introduced him after he was acquired and he was never part of any team content on social media or anything like that.
The move opens up a roster spot for the Hornets. They have one two-way and one full roster spot left. There’s no guarantee they’ll fill that roster spot before the start of the season, but it does give them room to make some more moves should they choose to do so.
