Happy Birthday, Prince Louis!

To mark the Prince’s fifth birthday tomorrow, two photographs of the young man were released by Kensington Palace. The photos were shot by Millie Pilkington earlier this month. Ms. Pilkington shot the private wedding photographs for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s wedding—more from The Daily Mail’s story.

The youngster sits atop a pile of garden cuttings in one of the relaxed pictures taken in the garden of Adelaide Cottage in Windsor, the family home.

Proud parents Kate and William said they were ‘delighted’ to share the images of their energetic youngest child tonight.

Here is a look at all three children in their fifth birthday photos.

There is another family photo to share, this one released yesterday on what would have been Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth’s 97th birthday.

It was taken by the Princess of Wales and shows the late Queen with some of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In the back row, you see Lady Louise Mountbatten-Windsor and James, Earl of Wessex. Lena Tindall, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, Isla Phillips, and Prince Louis are in the next row. Seated on the sofa with the Queen, Mia Tindall holds Lucas Tindall and Savannah Phillips sits to the Queen’s left.

The photo released yesterday is reminiscent of another image shot by the Princess of Wales at Balmoral Castle.

That photo was taken in 2018. It showed the Queen and Prince Philip with seven of their great-grandchildren: Prince George, Prince Louis (on HM’s lap), Princess Charlotte, Savannah Phillips (behind Charlotte), Isla Phillips holding Lena Tindall, and Mia Tindall.

The Prince and Princess of Wales visited Birmingham on Thursday to “celebrate the city’s diverse culture and heritage.” The couple’s first engagement was at The Indian Streatery, an independent restaurant in the city’s center.

The restaurant opened in 2017 and serves authentic Indian street food and British/Asian fusion dishes.

More from the Birmingham Mail’s coverage

Birmingham restaurant Indian Streatery “thought it was a prank” when Buckingham Palace called to enquire about a visit from the Prince and Princess of Wales.

Indian Streatery, run by the Sharma family, hosted the royals as they came to celebrate the diversity and culture of the city – and even try their hand at cooking.

The Streatery is staffed entirely by female chefs. In an Instagram story, the restaurant wrote, “I guess we can break our all-female kitchen team rule for one day.”

And from Hello’s story:

During the visit, which comes as part of a wider tour of the country ahead of the King’s coronation, Will and Kate said they “love curries” and “secretly try lots of curry houses around the country”.

Kate said food is “so nostalgic” and said she “loves spice”. Meanwhile, William said he preferred milder food, adding: “I’m a masala man.”

When asked whether their children enjoy Indian food, Kate replied: “Absolutely, they love it.”

Prince William took a reservation while at the restaurant.

More from this ET story.

Prince William is adding food service to his résumé. The Prince and Princess of Wales caught a major case of the giggles on Thursday while visiting an Indian restaurant in Birmingham, UK, after William took to the phones and booked a reservation for one unsuspecting customer.

After confirming the correct location of The Indian Streatery, the next in line to the British royal throne then talked timing with the customer before securing their table. After hanging up, William, wife Kate Middleton, and the restaurant staff exploded into a fit of laughter with William saying he hoped that he sent the patron to the correct location.

Another view.

Everyone posed for a group photo before the couple left the restaurant.

The duo then visited the city’s historic Jewelry Quarter.

The Mail’s Rebecca Eglish shared a quick video as the couple arrived.

We learn more from this People story

William and Kate celebrated the city’s creative trades — like the artisans making jewelry and innovative filmmaking and gaming industries — at an event in The Rectory, a restaurant and pub overlooking the city’s historic Jewellery Quarter.

Some 40% of the U.K.’s jewelry is created in the area around the Rectory, and the couple met designers, artists and playwrights who work in and around the creative hub.

The Prince and Princess took part in an interactive dart game.

TV presenter and actress Alison Hammond (center), who is from Birmingham, was at the event.

She shared a selfie on social media.

The Prince and Princess then did a walkabout.

Another view.

One more photo from the walkabout.

A video from Kensington Palace.

Now for our look at what Kate wore.

She was in a design by Karen Millen, the British label’s Long-Sleeve Woven Pleated Midi Trench Dress (now sold out), with thanks to UFO No More for the ID.

The style is described this way: “Part dress, part trench coat, this beautifully cut design shows off neat notched lapels, a waist tie, and crisp pleats lining the skirt. Cinch it in for a nipped-in silhouette that’s ready for colder climes.” It is made of polyester and lined in polyester.

The piece is sold out in most sizes and colors but remains available in camel in sizes 18 – 22.

The Princess accessorized with her Gianvito Rossi 105 pumps in Bordeaux suede.

She also brought back her Sézane’ Dina’ earrings ($130) in gold-plated recycled brass.

And the Daniella Draper Gold Citrine Baby Treasure Necklace ($1100), a piece that was first noted at a January Hampton Court Palace reception for England’s World Champion Wheelchair Rugby Team.

This is an abbreviated post as I am still recovering from COVID. I will see you next week when the Prince and Princess visit Wales on Thursday and Friday!
