On Thursday night, GQ took over Public Records in Brooklyn for a party presented by PATRÓN EL ALTO Tequila celebrating hip-hop’s producer of the moment: GQ Hype cover star Metro Boomin. The party got started when DJ Boof turned up the volume on “Superhero” off Metro’s long-awaited sophomore solo album, Heroes and Villains, which dropped last week. There’s nothing like listening to Metro’s genre-defining sonic landscape on a booming Ojas soundsystem—and there’s really nothing like it when the architect of Atlanta rap himself is in the house, grooving along. As the tequila flowed and Metro friends and collaborators like French Montana, A Boogie With Da Hoodie, and Druski hit the dance floor, word came down that Heroes and Villains had gone #1. Keep scrolling to see how the celebration unfolded.
