The Mayfair restaurant has created a five-course tasting menu as a tribute to the King, before hosting an Extraordinary British feast on Sunday 7th May

Galvin at Windows, the award-winning restaurant with unparalleled views of Buckingham Palace and the Mall from the 28th floor of London Hilton on Park Lane, has created a special Coronation tasting menu and will also host a truly indulgent British feast to celebrate the King’s Coronation in May.

The special five-course Coronation Menu has been created by Galvin at Windows’ Head Chef Marc Hardiman, who like His Majesty King Charles III, is passionate about using the best of seasonal and sustainable British produce. Each course of the Coronation tasting menu includes a nod to the King starting with Herbs and Flowers, an ode to Highgrove; followed by a twist on baked cheesy eggs (rumoured to be the King’s favourite childhood dish) with a coddled St Ewes egg, cured ham and Montgomery cheddar. Before the main course, guests will enjoy seasonal vegetables presented as a ‘Garden Patch’ and seasoned with malt and wild herbs, referencing the King’s love of nature and gardening. Head Chef Marc Hardiman’s main course will feature Maran chicken (one of the breeds that the King keeps) accompanied by British peas, broad beans and wild garlic; and the tasting menu will finish on a sweet note of one of His Majesty’s favourite desserts, a Lemon Cream, served alongside raspberries and meringue.

Galvin at Windows will then host its take on The Coronation Big Lunch on Sunday 7th May with a truly indulgent and delicious Great British Feast. Chef Marc Hardiman has created a family feast style celebration for the whole table to share. This will be a festival of British flavours starting with a ‘Procession’ of cold cut meats, cured, smoked and marinated South Coast fish; followed by a ‘Feast’ of several mouth-watering options to share including a slow cooked shoulder of West Country lamb, a whole roast Devon white chicken seasoned with chimichurri, woodland mushroom fregola and wild garlic, accompanied by new season potatoes, seasonal vegetables and an array of flavourful sauces and condiments.

“The Coronation is such a special and uniquely British occasion, and we are in an exceptional position at Galvin at Windows, with unbeatable views of not just Buckingham Palace and Wellington Arch, but all of London. As such, we wanted to create the most impactful, memorable, and delicious experience for our guests to celebrate the Coronation and the best of Britain. I have long admired the efforts His Majesty King Charles has made in promoting sustainability as well as his love of nature; I am similarly very passionate about eating locally and sustainably as much as possible, so it was important to me to reflect this in both the Coronation Tasting Menu and The King’s Coronation Feast. It will truly be a once in a lifetime experience and I am very much looking forward to seeing family and friends at Galvin at Windows to celebrate this special occasion together.” said Marc Hardiman, Head Chef, Galvin at Windows.

The Coronation tasting menu will be available from Monday 1st May to Saturday 6th May, the day of the Coronation and costs £110 per person, and £55 per child (under 12)

The British Coronation Feast will be served on Sunday 7th May and costs £79 per person, and £39.50 per child (under 12)

Bookings for both can be made here via Galvin at Windows
