How to use our printable Valentine’s Day cards

Print: Print out as many pages as you need for your classroom, playgroup, or home. Children can have fun making cards with each character, or choosing a specific character to focus on. Downloaded by clicking this link or the image above.

Look: Encourage kids to notice what each character is doing. For example, Reya the red panda is hugging her valentine. Ollo the elephant made a card within a card! Peck the bird is holding two cards. Sandy the dingo looks like she’s dancing with her card. Kodi the bear is on her way to deliver her valentine. Paying attention to detail is a great way to strengthen observation skills.

Choose: Choose a favorite character to color first. Why is that card a favorite? What colors will be used to color it in? Anything goes!

Cut: Cut the card along or in between the dotted lines. Cutting with kid-safe scissors helps build fine motor skills.

Decorate: What else can kids do with the printable valentines to make it special? How about putting them in envelopes, decorating them with glitter, or gluing them to a cardboard backing?
