PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — The driver of a Ford F-250 that slammed into a Mazda and a PPB patrol vehicle is still at large after the hit-run crash early Saturday morning in North Portland.

A PPB sergeant was stopped at a red light at N. Fessenden and Columbia around 9:15 a.m. when he and the Mazda minivan were hit from behind by the Ford pickup. Authorities said the pickup driver momentarily stopped before trying to drive off. But the pickup was damaged and the driver ran off.

Despite a quick response and a search for the driver, he managed to elude the search and is still being sought.

“There were no significant injuries,” police said. The minivan driver was able to drive off.

The investigation is ongoing. The Ford pickup was seized as evidence. Anyone with information is asked to call Portland police.
