(KTXL) – Two gold medals, two silver medals and two bronze medals. That is the haul for Sacramento-area athletes at the Paris Olympics.

The two gold medals were won in basketball.

Tyrese Haliburton actually made a joke about his medal, posting on social media: “When you ain’t do nun on the group project and still get an A.”

Haliburton, a former Sacramento King, only played in three games for Team USA. He scored eight points in 26 minutes.

Chelsea Gray is an Olympic champion in women’s basketball for the second time. Gray, a former standout at St. Mary’s High School in Stockton, helped Team USA beat France on Sunday for its eighth straight gold medal and 61st straight win.

Gray, who started every game for Team USA during its Olympic run, had four assists and one rebound in the gold medal game.

Sagen Maddalena is leaving Paris with a silver medal after finishing in second place in the women’s 50m rifle 3 positions.

Maddalena, a member of the U.S. Army’s Marksmanship Unit, was born in Woodland and now lives in Groveland. She was competing in her second Olympics.

Erika Connolly, from Modesto, was also competing in her second Olympics. Already a two-time Olympic medalist, she now has three Olympic medals after winning silver in the women’s 4×100 meter freestyle relay.

Connolly did not compete in the final, but she did race in the qualifying heat for Team USA.

Alex Obert is a bronze medalist in water polo, helping to win Team USA’s first Olympic medal in men’s water polo since 2008.

The U.S. beat Hungary on Sunday, 11-8, on the last day of the Paris Olympics.

Obert, from Loomis, is a three-time Olympian.

Nyjah Huston is a two-time Olympian, and now he is also an Olympic medalist after winning bronze in street skateboarding.

Often referred to as the best street skateboarder of his generation, Huston, from Davis, was ten years old when he won his first major competition.
