(WJW) — Federal agents on Wednesday executed a search warrant at a property owned by the CEO of a Cleveland-based real estate developer.

Millennia Companies, founded by CEO Frank Sinito, owns and operates low-income apartment complexes across several states.

It’s one of the largest multifamily apartment owners in the U.S., with a portfolio of more than 31,000 units in 26 states, according to a 2023 news release. It also owns the 57-story Key Tower, one of the tallest buildings in the Cleveland skyline, which it purchased in 2017.

The Wednesday search was conducted by agents from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and the U.S. Department of Agriculture, attorney Marisa Darden of Benesch Law confirmed in a statement to FOX 8 News.

“It’s important to remember that an investigation is just that. There have been no arrests and no charges filed,” Darden said. “Millennia Housing Development and Mr. Sinito are cooperating with the investigation and have no further comment at this time.”

FOX 8 News has reached out to local authorities for more information.
