FBI seeks victims of autism program director accused of sexual abuse of a minor

The FBI’s Tampa Division, Orlando Resident Agency is looking for more possible victims of a man who was recently charged with sexual abuse of a minor. The FBI believes 62-year-old James Grover, who also goes by Jamie, primarily targeted boys from 2010 until now while working at Autism on the Seas and Special Needs Advocacy Program.The FBI said Grover was the group director of Autism on the Seas and the founder of SNAP, which provides opportunities to special needs communities that are not always funded through local, state, and federal programs.Three victims are mentioned, all tied to Grover and according to the FBI.”… he was sexually assaulted by Grover…” a 15-year-old victim said, describing an incident on a cruise in 2023.”… would often hug him and ‘smack’ (victim) on the buttocks…” the victim added, noting that Grover allegedly showed him a tablet with “… images of a ‘bunch of naked girls’…” A 16-year-old victim reported that “… he had been ‘sexually assaulted’ by Grover…” on a different cruise in 2022.”… (victim) attempted to push Grover away but was unsuccessful…”The victim stated he had been fondled 20 times, mainly at Grover’s home, and in one instance, Grover “… stopped performing the sexual act when (victim) pushed Grover…”When interviewed, Grover stated his contact amounted to “… Grover hugging (victim) and Grover denied other touching…” at his home.He also “… denied any sexual touching of (victim) while on the cruise…” A third victim mentioned in the complaint is now an adult, but investigators say he operates as if he’s pre-teen.
