The Fayetteville Police Department and the FBI continue to search for 17-year-old Blake Deven.

On Thursday, the FBI added a poster of Blake to the FBI’s missing persons website. The poster will also be released on the FBI’s social media accounts to reach a wider audience. Detectives and Special Agents are following a number of leads and have conducted interviews to gather information to locate Blake Deven.

The last known photo of Blake was in about 2012, which is when he was in elementary school. Last week, Fayetteville police provided an age-processed photo of what he may look like. The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children created the age-processed photo.

Felicia Chandler says it was painful enough to put her son into foster care.

Unimaginable to discover he’s now missing and has been for years.

“I cannot stress enough that the main goal here is getting this little boy’s picture out here,” Chandler said. “Getting him found and getting him safe.”

Chandler says Deven is her biological son; she keeps a spread of his childhood photos by her side.

“We love you, son,” Chandler said. “We love you so much.”

Chandler told WRAL’s Chris Lovingood that Deven was placed into foster care because of domestic violence allegations, allegations she denies.

Then, last week, police said Deven’s family members told them he was last seen at least two years ago.

“How can a child be missing for two years? or even a second?” Chandler said.

Chandler wants to know what happened to these children.

“Somebody, please help me. Please help me,” Chandler said.

Fayetteville police did not say how long Blake Deven has been missing. The Missing Children Database states Blake Deven has been missing since 2022.

Police did not say how Blake Deven and London Deven are related.

The Madison County Social Services Department released a statement saying:

“The Madison County Department of Social Services had placed in its custody in February 2011, a child, Blake Julian Trenton Deven, who is subject of an investigation by the Fayetteville Police Department. In May 2011, Blake Deven was placed in a foster home located in Buncombe County through a licensed private child placing agency. He remained in the foster home and was adopted in July 2013. It is my understanding that the family moved to Cumberland County in 2015.”
