FAIRFAX, Va. — Fairfax County Police are investigating the death of a Springfield woman. Fayra Desiree Bonilla-Rubi, 26 was found near a wooded area Friday evening.

Police were called to the 7600 block of Highland Street in Springfield after being alerted by a community member to Bonilla-Rubi’s body. Her family reported her missing earlier in the week on Monday.

WUSA9 spoke to Bonilla-Rubi’s mother, she said her daughter was loved by all who knew her, she was a hard worker and was taking college courses in Virginia. She asked to remain anonymous out of fear.

“She was a girl who made herself of service to others. If you needed help, she would help you right away.” her mother said.

She believes her daughter knew the person who killed her, based on information she said police found on her cell phone.

“The person who killed her was a long time friend. They went through her phone and found out what they did to her. They kidnapped her and killer her and just dumped her body,” the mother said.
