Last week, Garland High School student Michael Adair asked the Garland ISD school board to grant all district students an excused absence for the total solar eclipse on Monday, April 8.

“Having the excused absence will allow us students to be with our families to experience this event,” Adair said, at the Tuesday, March 26 regular school board meeting. “It will also keep us safe.”
