Today will feel more pleasant with lower humidity, but temps will still be hot with highs reaching the low 90s this afternoon. A disturbance off the South Carolina Coast will develop and nudge inland. This will increase tropical moisture across the region leading to more clouds and showers and storms — especially east of I-77. Some heavy downpours possible, but heaviest rain will likely stay east of the area toward the coast. The stalled boundary will dissolve over the weekend. Highs will climb by Sunday as a ridge builds in from the southern plains leading to highs near the triple digits early next week. Factoring in the humidity it will feel like 105+ so expect more heat advisories next week as well.
