DI SUN is transporting us to a thrilling techno joyride with her dynamic two-track EP, Love Is Special, out now via AfterTraxx.

She has swiftly risen to prominence in just over a year, fusing classical influences from her early training in the guzheng, a traditional Chinese plucked instrument, and a love for techno inspired by luminaries like Amelie Lens. Having already signed her music to acclaimed labels such as deadmau5’s mau5trap and Adam Beyer’s Drumcode, DI SUN has swiftly positioned herself as an exciting artist to look out for in 2024.

Love Is Special encapsulates the essence of peak-time techno, featuring two tracks that enchant with their propulsive production and hypnotic ambiances. The titular track is a dancefloor anthem with frenetic drums, gritty bass stabs and distorted basslines, lending to an over-the-top cut that’s ideal for warehouse sets.

On the flip side, “Incantation” takes a more minimalist approach, enveloping us in a deep, dark atmosphere. Eerie vocals intertwine with synth stabs and rumbling basslines, taking fans on a mystical sonic journey.

As DI SUN continues to push boundaries, she is planning to start incorporating more traditional Chinese and ethnic instruments into her music, promising an exciting evolution in her already dynamic sound. Take a listen to Love Is Special EP below.
