Sunday night storm chances

Most of Sunday will be dry, but can’t rule out a passing shower here or there during the afternoon into the evening. Better storm chances will be late Sunday night as a round of storms sweeps from west to east across the area. For DFW, timing looks to be around midnight or after for storms to arrive.

Isolated to scattered storms are possible during the early evening into early nighttime hours in far western and northwestern North Texas. These storms could have a better chance at being severe with large hail and damaging winds.

Late evening into the nighttime hours a line of storms will form across western North Texas and then sweep west to east across North Texas during the late night hours.

As storms approach DFW, the threat for severe storms looks lower. Some strong wind gusts are possible. Heavy rain and lightning are a given with storms as they pas by.

Storms will move into eastern North Texas by Monday morning with most of North Texas drying out quickly first thing on Monday.
