DFW Weather: Hot and dry weekend ahead

Simply, it will be a hot and rain-free weekend. High temps will be at or around 100° and afternoon heat index values will be higher than that.

North Texas could see heat index values 105° or higher on Sunday. It’ll be very similar to Saturday, but temps and heat index values will be a degree or two lower.

Rain chances start middle part of next week. A few disturbances will move into Texas bringing the highest rain coverage for areas to the southeast. A late-summer cold front keeps rain chances in the forecast through Labor Day weekend. As of now, rainfall totals look low. Rain will generally be scattered meaning rain coverage will be low.
