DENVER (KDVR) — After a hot end of the Labor Day weekend, more warm weather is in the Denver weather forecast for the start of the workweek.

On Monday, Denver reached a high of 93 degrees, putting it in a tie for the 9th hottest Labor Day on record.

Weather tonight: Mainly clear, breezy

Monday night will be mainly clear and a little breezy, with wind gusts reaching 20 to 30 mph. Low temperatures will fall to the upper 50s, which is 5 degrees warmer than normal for this time of year.

Weather tomorrow: Sunny, hot again

Tuesday will look very similar to Monday with plenty of sunshine and warm temperatures. Highs in the metro area will climb to the low to mid-90s, which is nearly 10 degrees above average.

Looking ahead: Rain and cooler temperatures

A cold front will move through Wednesday, leading to increasing clouds and some showers and thunderstorms by the afternoon and evening. Temperatures will be cooler, but more seasonal, reaching the mid-80s.

Thursday will be the coolest day of the week, with a high near 80 and a chance for a few more showers. Drier weather moves into the forecast on Friday and into the weekend. Temperatures will stay seasonal, starting with a low in the mid-50s, and then climbing to a high in the mid-80s.
