Deadly shooting under investigation in north Charlotte

Officers responded along Fontana Avenue, near Burton Street, where they found a man with gunshot wounds.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — One person is dead following a shooting in a north Charlotte neighborhood overnight Thursday, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department said.
Officers responded along Fontana Avenue, near Burton Street, where they found a man with gunshot wounds.
Medic pronounced the man dead at the scene, according to police.
No word on who the victim was at this time or if there are any suspects police are looking for. WCNC Charlotte has reached out to CMPD for more information.
