Daytona Beach to host veterans wall tribute to fallen heroes

Daytona Beach will be displaying an 89-foot-long veterans wall this weekend where residents can pay tribute to fallen heroes.The display will be at the Riverfront Esplanade’s Veterans Plaza from Nov. 1 to Nov. 3 and is located at 155 N. Beach St.The display wall features a double-sided “Vietnam Wall & Cost of Freedom Tribute,” measuring 89 feet by 6 feet and will be on display from sunrise to sunset.The display is a collaboration between the America’s Freedom Tribute and the city of Daytona Beach with a number of sponsors. The America’s Freedom Tribute says it travels the U.S., showcasing its Vietnam wall to “honor, respect and remember those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice.”The wall includes all of the other major conflicts and wars, such as WWI, WWII, Korea, Desert Storm and Somalia. The wall also gives special recognition for post-traumatic stress disorder and suicide awareness, according to the Riverfront Esplanade. Veterans Day is Monday, Nov. 11.
