CLEVELAND (WJW) – Cleveland is the most stressed city in America.
That’s according to a study by WalletHub.
WalletHub considered 39 metrics to come up with its list of most and least stressed cities in the U.S.
The key areas focused on work stress, financial stress, family stress and health and safety stress.
Here’s what WalletHub found about Cleveland: The violent crime rate combined with one of the lowest median household incomes in the country, the city’s divorce rate, foreclosure rate and poverty rate make it the most stressed city in America.
WalletHub reported that Cleveland’s low wages caused numerous households to fall behind on bills in the last 12 months. Cleveland has the second-highest foreclosure rate and the second-highest poverty rate in the country, WalletHub reported.
The study also reported Cleveland has one of the highest violent crime rates in America.
Other Ohio cities on the list include Akron at No. 8 most stressed. Cincinnati came in at No. 23 and Toledo came in at No. 26.
Joining Cleveland in the top 5 most stressed cities is Detroit at No. 2, Baltimore at No. 3, Memphis at No. 4 and Gulfport, MS at No. 5.
