Crews respond to apartment fire near NC State

Raleigh firefighters early Friday responded to an apartment fire near North Carolina State University.

The fire was reported before 1 a.m. at the Centennial Lofts on Crest Road, near Varsity Drive.

Firefighters worked at the scene for several hours working to clean up the aftermath.

No one was injured, but the American Red Cross was assisting some residents.

WRAL News is working to learn the cause of the fire and if any residents were unable to return to their apartments.
