Colorado Rockies hit 100 losses for second season in a row

DENVER (KDVR) — After Saturday’s game against the Los Angeles Dodgers, the Colorado Rockies officially tallied 100 losses for the season, not far off from their worst season in history.

The Colorado Rockies faced the Los Angeles Dodgers and lost 13-2.

In 2023, the Rockies hit a new record of 100 losses in one season, eventually finishing the team’s worst season in history with 59 wins and 103 losses. This year, the Rockies were able to pull out a few more wins, scarcely making it only the Rockies’ second-worst record in the team’s history.

Despite the less-than-satisfactory record, 100 losses is not unheard of. In fact, last year, the Rockies were one of the few teams that had never hit 100 losses. Meanwhile, almost every team in the league has hit 100 losses at some point since the 162-game season was adopted in the early ’60s.

While it’s not a milestone to brag about, the Rockies aren’t the only team at the bottom with 100 losses. Other teams have already hit 100 losses for the season, like the Miami Marlins and the Chicago White Sox, who have well over 100 losses.

The Rockies won’t be making the playoffs, but at least they’re not the worst in the MLB this season, which is reserved for the White Sox with more losses than the Rockies have even seen in their team’s history.
