By far some of our most widely read and loved posts were those featuring royal weddings.

Weddings at the Handbag

While the golden age of royal nuptials was slightly before our blog started, we did cover some beautiful weddings. You can read our posts here:

Weddings of the Past

We also took a look back at some of the great wedding gowns of the past! You can take see some of our features – and the very popular polls – on the following:

Here are some of the favorites in those categories:

We featured so many more dresses in so many categories! Just check out the archive page and scroll down to “Royal Weddings”.

Handbag Favorites

Almost everyone loves a wedding, and they really love to vote on wedding dresses. Our overall favorite wedding dress was determined in in this post. The flowing simplicity of Crown Princess Mette Marit’s gown edged out (barely) the structured and elegant gown of Crown Princess Victoria!

We revisited the topic again requesting you vote on the “road less traveled” gown. That vote blew the doors out and was our most voted on poll ever. Crown Princess Ingrid of Denmark won that vote with her elegant 1930s satin gown. We’ve received the message loud and clear: you all think simple gown stand the test of time!

We voted on your favorite veil/tiara/headpiece combo, and the non-tiara option won! Not surprising, as Charlene Wittstock’s diamond brooch and veil combination has always been a favorite. We took a second – or third, or fourth, or 100th – look at the gowns to pick our favorite train, and the integrated train of Letizia Ortiz’s Manuel Pertegaz’s beautiful gown stole the show.

Some Doodles for You
