CLEVELAND (WJW) – A Cleveland woman has been indicted on multiple charges in the death of her 2-year-old son.

Niesha Walls, 33, is charged in the death of 2-year-old Noell Walls and charged with severely neglecting her two other children.

“It is unimaginable to think a mother would do nothing while her children starved,” Prosecutor Michael C. O’Malley said in a press release. “The number one duty of a parent is to provide care for their children and Niesha Walls failed in that duty. We will do everything in our power to get justice for Noell.”

According to a press release, officers found Noell Walls unresponsive after a request for a wellness check at Niesha Walls’ home.

Police found the home in “deplorable conditions,” police said.

Noell Wells was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators later learned he had an untreated medical condition.

The Cuyahoga County Prosecutor’s Office says Walls’ two other children, 9 and 11, were severely malnourished. They were taken to the hospital.

A grandy jury indicted Niesha Walls on the following charges Thursday:

  • One count of Involuntary Manslaughter
  • One count of Felonious Assault
  • Three counts of Endangering Children

Walls’ arraignment on the charges has not been set.
