The Charlotte Hornets started their week off with a couple of new hires. First, they reportedly added a new President of Business Operations, Shelly Cayette-Weston.

According to the Hornets official site, Cayette-Weston “will oversee the day-to-day business operations for all of HSE’s properties, including the Charlotte Hornets, Greensboro Swarm, Hornets Venom GT and Spectrum Center.” She worked her way up through the business sides of the New Orleans Hornets and Cleveland Cavaliers. She was tremendously successful in Cleveland and will now get the opportunity to lead the business side of the Charlotte Hornets.
The Hornets weren’t done there. ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski also reported on the Hornets adding another assistant coach to Charles Lee‘s staff. Probably a record number of Hornets Tweet for Woj on a random weekday.
Longstaff started his NBA coaching career with Oklahoma City and New York. He joins former Utah assistant Lamar Skeeter as part of Lee’s top staff members in Charlotte.

Josh Longstaff will join head assistant Lamar Skeeter on Lee’s staff. Longstaff started his coaching career as an assistant coach at Portland High School in Portland, Maine before getting a shot as the head coach of the Gorham High School Rams. He made the ever-so-popular leap from high school basketball coach in Maine to assistant coach for the Oklahoma City Thunder in 2010. He’s spent time as an assistant with the Knicks, Bucks, and Bulls. He spent one season as the head coach of the Erie Bayhawks, and he led the team to the conference finals in that season.
