CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Charlotte Fire Department responded to a fire at the Charlotte Douglas International Airport parking deck on Saturday morning.
According to a post via X, Charlotte Fire Department says the fire was caused by the accidental starting in the engine compartment of a vehicle. Rescuers say four cars were damaged by the fire which caused $105,000 in damages.
According to Medic, two officers and one civilian were injured on scene. One person was transported to a hospital by Medic.
Charlotte Fire Department says it took 60 firefighters 40 minutes to extinguish the fire. Rescuers say no damage was done to the airport terminal and airport operations were not affected.
The hourly parking deck is back open at Charlotte Douglas Airport.
