PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Multnomah County Chair Jessica Vega Pederson is set to deliver the annual State of the County address Monday morning.

This comes on the heels of a tumultuous year for the county. From a spike in inmate deaths to continued scrutiny over the expansion of shelter capacity and access.

Additionally, the county has come under fire for issues stemming from AMR’s quality and rates, as well as their controversial decision to promptly close shelters during January’s ice storms.

Co-produced by the City Club of Portland, the address will be given at the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry, with the event beginning at 7:30 a.m. with a reception.

The official program will start at 8 a.m.

The address will be followed by a question and answer session with Cynthia Gomez, director of Community and Civic Impact at Portland State University.

KOIN 6 News will have more information later in the day.
