Around 11:39 on Oct. 6, the Vallejo Police Department responded to multiple reports of a sideshow at the intersection of Tennessee Street and Sacramento Street in Vallejo. About 100 people were watching vehicles perform donuts and block traffic, according to VPD.

The Vallejo Police Department arrested three Sacramento suspects for their alleged involvement in a 100-person sideshow and stolen street signs.

A California Highway Patrol air unit flew over the scene and reportedly observed one of the sideshow participants steal a street sign. Police said the suspect put the stolen sign inside a stolen 2016 Hyundai Elantra and left the area. The CHP air unit guided VPD to the Elantra’s location where they were led on a pursuit. For public safety reasons, police said the chase was called off.

CHP took over the pursuit, which led to Oakland. The vehicle became disabled and all five occupants attempted to flee on foot, according to CHP. Three of the five men were caught and arrested. Police said a records check revealed that the three suspects, as well as the stolen Elantra, were from Sacramento.

Officers searched the stolen Elantra and reportedly found another stolen street sign inside. The suspects were transported to the Solano County Jail for multiple felony charges. The vehicle was towed, and its owner was notified of the recovery.
