CLEVELAND (WJW) — The Cleveland Browns are losing wide receiver Amari Cooper who was traded to the Buffalo Bills, it was announced Tuesday afternoon by several NFL and ESPN reporters, and the Bills.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Browns will get a 2025 third-round pick and a 2026 seventh-round pick as part of the trade.

The Bills receive Cooper and a 2025 sixth-round pick.

The five-time pro bowler, picked fourth overall in the 2015 NFL Draft by the Raiders, joined the Cleveland Browns in 2022 via a trade.

The team announced Tuesday he became the first player in team history to record consecutive 1,000-yard receiving seasons (1,160 in 2022 and 1,250 in 2023). In six games this season, he has recorded 24 receptions for 250 yards and two touchdowns.

“We appreciate Amari’s hard work, professionalism and on-field contributions throughout his two plus seasons with us. He created many memorable moments with us and was an integral part of our 2023 playoff team. We wish him the best in Buffalo as he continues his NFL career,” said Browns GM Andrew Berry.

Cooper had already been the subject of numerous trade rumors during training camp this year.

The news about Cooper marks the second big trade announcement of the day after the New York Jets acquired Las Vegas wide receiver Davante Adams.
