The Cleveland Browns have traded wide receiver Amari Cooper along with a 2025 sixth round pick to the Buffalo Bills. The Browns will receive a 2025 third-round pick and a 2026 seventh-round pick for the five-time Pro Bowler.

Cooper joined the Browns after a trade with the Dallas Cowboys in March 2022, bringing high expectations due to his proven track record as a top-tier receiver. However, his presence couldn’t fully offset the offensive struggles that have plagued the team. These challenges were particularly evident following the acquisition of quarterback Deshaun Watson, who, despite his potential, hasn’t managed to significantly uplift the team’s performance. In the 2024 season, Cooper’s contributions included 24 receptions for 250 yards and two touchdowns over six games.

Over his Browns career, which spanned 38 games, Cooper tallied 174 receptions, 2,660 receiving yards, and 16 touchdowns.

The trade to the Bills presents a new chapter for Cooper and an opportunity for the Browns to reassess their offensive strategy and capitalize on their newly acquired draft picks. For the Bills, acquiring Cooper could enhance their receiving corps significantly, potentially providing the missing link in their quest for a championship run. Fans and analysts alike will be keenly watching to see how this strategic move plays out for both teams as they aim for a stronger performance in the upcoming seasons.
