WINDSOR LOCKS, Conn. (WWLP) – Thousands of families are preparing to fly out of Bradley International Airport, with spring break approaching for many school districts.
The airport is getting ready to welcome more than 125-thousand travelers from April 3 until April 14. Some of the most popular destinations this year from Bradley include Orlando, Baltimore, and Atlanta with travel volumes getting closer to pre-pandemic levels.
“Our list of nonstop flights has grown to more than forty destinations thanks to the eleven airlines that fly out of Bradley International Airport,” said Kevin A. Dillon, A.A.E., Executive Director of the Connecticut Airport Authority. “With so many travel options, it is no surprise that we’re expecting a large volume of individuals to fly for their spring vacations.”
Airline officials told 22News how you can beat the increased demand. “Leave yourself plenty of time at the airport especially if you’re traveling with small children, the rule of thumb at Bradley is you should be in the terminal at least 90 minutes before your flight, leaving you enough time for your flight and getting you through the security checkpoint,” said Public Information Officer, Brian Spyros.
To avoid the long lines, it is recommended in enrolling for TSA PreCheck to help expedite your screening. Before you go, Spyros also suggests to know your parking options and what you can bring with you in your carry-on.
The busiest hours will be between 4AM and 7AM.
