Bond set for local mother charged in death of child

CLEVELAND (WJW) – Bond has been set at $100,000 for a Cleveland mother who is charged in connection with the death of her toddler.

Niesha Walls, 33, is charged in the death of her son, 2-year-old Noell Walls. She’s also charged with severely neglecting her two other children.

Niesha Walls was indicted last week on charges of involuntary manslaughter, endangering children and felony assault.

She was arraigned on the charges on Tuesday, August 27.

According to prosecutors, Noell Walls was found unresponsive on August 6.

The toddler was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Cuyahoga County Prosecutor’s Office said Walls’ two other children, 9 and 11, were severely malnourished. They were taken to the hospital.

Niesha Walls’ first pretrial hearing is set for September 4.
