Blackpink star Jennie Kim left fans concerned after rushing off the stage in the middle of the band’s Melbourne Rod Laver Arena show in Australia on Sunday night.

Kim has just finished performing the band’s fifth track, Lovesick Girls, before raising her hands to her head and quickly walking off stage.

The South Korean girl group, who are currently performing shows across Australia as part of their Born Pink World Tour, briefly halted the show after the 27-year-old fled.

“It seems that we will be proceeding with the rest of the show without Jennie,” her bandmate Roseanne Park, known as Rosé, told the audience.

“However, we will try our best to fill the stage up for you guys and give you the best night. In the meantime, our hearts will be with Jennie, supporting her.”

Kim had already skipped the band’s soundcheck, Park earlier telling fans that the star was “not feeling too well today”.

The group’s management team, YG entertainment also spoke to the K-pop star’s health condition after the incident, writing in a statement that Kim had been unable to stay on stage “due to her deteriorating condition”.

“Jennie expressed her strong determination to carry on with the performance until the end,” they said. “However, following medical advice on site, we immediately took measures to ensure she receives ample rest and stability.”

They added: “Jennie has conveyed her regrets for not being able to stay with the fans until the end, and assures that she will recover as soon as possible.

“We will do its utmost to support Jennie’s speedy recovery. We would like to ask for your understanding once again.”

Jennie’s health concerns come less than two weeks after bandmate Jisoo’s recovery from COVID-19.

After contracting the COVID-19 virus, Jisoo was unable to perform at many of the concerts the band played during the Japan leg of the tour.

There are hopes that all members of the girl group will be in better shape by their next performance at Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney on Friday, June 16.
