Bicyclist killed in hit-and-run on North Carolina road

BURLINGTON, N.C. (WGHP) — A man was killed in a Friday evening hit-and-run crash, the Burlington Police Department reports.

According to a news release, on Friday around 11:17 p.m., the Burlington Police Department and Burlington Fire Department responded to a hit-and-run car crash in the 2700 block of Maple Avenue involving a person on a bicycle.

The bike rider, Michael Blake Hensley, 31, of Burlington, died at the scene.

The suspected vehicle is described as an older model SUV with noticeable front-end damage that was reported to have last been seen traveling north on Maple Avenue.
