Beat the Heat at Carolina Raptor Center Aug 3 and 17: water activities on the Raptor Trail – Charlotte On The Cheap

Cool off before school starts with Beat the Heat at the Carolina Raptor Center on August 3 and 17, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day.

This fun-filled family event features special water activities on the shaded Raptor Trail, where special water activities will keep everyone refreshed.

The Kona Ice truck will be on hand for purchases.

The water activities are included in the price of admission to Carolina Raptor Center:

  • Ages 23-65: $16
  • Ages 3-13: $12
  • Ages 13-22: $15
  • Under age 3: Free
  • Seniors (65+), military, teachers, students: $14

In addition to water fun for the whole family, the feathered residents will also join in the summer celebrations with special ice enrichment activities. Watch them interact with icy treats.

Event Programs:

  • 11 a.m.: Meet a Raptor – Learn what makes raptors unique in this educational program with an avian ambassador.
  • 1 p.m.: Bird Show – Feel the wind in your hair as the team of avian ambassadors show off what they do best: fly!
  • 2:30 p.m.: Keeper Chat – The Raptor Hospital treats more than 800 birds of prey each year. Hear from the Raptor Hospital staff about the unique ways they care for these feathered patients.
