5 of The Best Bath Products to Help You Sleep
1. Lavender Bath Salts
As you have probably read in many of my other posts about getting a good night’s sleep, lavender is known for its calming properties, and makes it the perfect addition to your bedtime bath routine. Adding lavender bath salts to your bath can help soothe your mind and body, reducing stress and promoting relaxation.
Plus, the scent of lavender can help you fall asleep faster and stay asleep longer. Look for bath salts that are made with natural ingredients and essential oils for the best results.
If you like lavender then I have the perfect product for you:
Product: Mr Teal’s Pure Epsom Salt Soaking Solution. Soothe & Sleep with Lavender
Price: £6.79
Good Points:
- Nice strong smell of lavender but not overpowering. One customer described it like lying down in a lavender field!
- Dissolves well so you don’t get any hard bits under your bottom in the bath.
- Made from Epsom Salts which are very good for giving you a boost of magnesium and helping to soothe tired muscles.
Not So Good Points:
- Not the cheapest on the market
- If you like to add quite a bit to your bath you may find this bag doesn’t last very long.
2. Eucalyptus Bubble Bath
This delicious bubble bath is another really great option for if you fancy a dip in the bath to relax and unwind before bed. Eucalyptus has an amazingly refreshing and invigorating scent that can help clear your mind and promote relaxation. That’s why you see it in lots of products used to help clear your congestion when you have a cold.
Also, an extra bonus of bubble bath is that the bubbles themselves can be soothing and provide a sense of comfort. Make sure you look for bubble bath products that are free of harsh chemicals and made with natural ingredients for the best experience. Chemicals can dry your skin out and itchy skin will definitely not help if you are already struggling to get to sleep.
So here is a product I have carefully selected for you that might just do the trick:
Product: Dr Teal’s Pure Epsom Salt Foaming Bath with Eucalyptus and Spearmint
Price: £8.95
Good points:
- Contains Epsom Salts which really help to relieve tired muscles and help you to relax.
- The added spearmint scent gives it an extra boost of freshness to help you breath and feel clear headed.
- The fragrance isn’t too strong.
- The bubbles last a good long time.
Not so good points:
- The consistency is a bit thick so comes out in large amounts at a time. You may find you get through it quite fast because of this.
- A little bit pricey for the quantity that you get.

3. Chamomile Tea Bath Soak
Believe it or not you don’t just drink Chamomile tea, it can be put in your bath too! It has long been known for its calming properties, making it the perfect addition to a relaxing bath before you climb in to bed. You can make your own chamomile tea bath soak by brewing several chamomile tea bags in hot water and adding the mixture to your bath.
Alternatively, you can buy pre-made chamomile bath soaks from many natural health shops including good old Amazon. Because the chamomile doesn’t have a strong smell it is usually paired up with another scent like lavender. Obviously don’t attempt to make this into a cup of tea otherwise you will have more than just sleeping issues to worry about. (eek!)
So, if you don’t want to make your own Chamomile Tea Bath Soak then here is one someone else prepared earlier for you:
Product: Salt Spa Co Bath Salts with Lavender and Chamomile Essential Oils 5kg
Price: £22.99
Good points:
- Contains Epsom Salts which we have mentioned before as being fantastic for relaxing your muscles.
- The salts have a pleasant subtle smell of lavender and chamomile but strong enough to be noticed.
- The plastic bag the salts come in is nice and sturdy so won’t tear easily creating a mess in your bathroom.
- The 5kg is a large bag so will last a long time.
- Melts very well in hot water.
- Good quality so you’re definitely getting value for money.
Not so good points:
- A bit pricey but you do get a large bag so will last a long time.
- The instructions on how much to use aren’t very clear. It talks about “cups” but in the UK we don’t use those to measure.
4. Rose Petal Bath Bombs
Bath bombs one of my favourite products to help me sleep and are a popular way to add some fizzy fun and relaxation to your bath time routine. Traditional rose petal bath bombs are a lovely choice for helping you to unwind before bed. The scent of roses has been shown to have a calming effect on your mind and body, making it the perfect addition to your pre-sleep routine.
Plus, the rose petals in the bath bomb will add a luxurious touch to your bath, making you feel pampered and relaxed. Look for rose petal bath bombs at your local chemist or why not have a go at making your own at home using rose or lavender essential oils. Here is a bath bomb kit if you want to give this ago.
Otherwise here are some ready-made bath bombs you might like to try from Amazon:
Product: Pack of 3 Jumbo Rose Petal Bath Bombs
Price: £9.99
Good points:
- Lovely subtle rose scent.
- The water turns lightly pink to add a splash of colour to your soak session.
Not so good points:
- The rose petals left in the bottom of the bath can be a little annoying, but they can be washed down the drain as they are perfectly natural. Or just scoop them up and drop them in the bin.
5. Almond and Coconut Milk Bath (My Favourite!)
A particularly luxurious bath product to help you relax and unwind before bed is almond and coconut milk bath. Almonds are well known for helping with stress relief and the coconut will leave your skin feeling soft and moisturized.
This yummy combination of almond and coconut gives off a sweet and soothing scent that will calm your mind. It’s the perfect bath product to help you drift off to sleep.
If this sounds like the bath product to help you sleep then look no-further. Here are the details of one of my top favourites:
Product: Laura Mercier Almond and Coconut Milk Honey Bath
Price: £45
Good points:
- Makes you feel like a real princess as you slide into the bath water.
- The scent is sweet but not too sweet and almost makes you want to eat it (but don’t!)
- The glass jar is very aesthetic and looks great in any bathroom
- The honey server is a lovely unique way of dolloping this into your bath and stops you putting too much in.
- Gives you a true tropical spa experience in your own home.
- Love this one!!!!
Not so good points:
- Yes, it’s a little bit expensive but is great as a novel treat now and then. Go on, you deserve it!
- There are a few bubbles to begin with but they disperse quickly to leave beautiful milky bath water.
