AGAWAM, Mass. (WWLP) – Wondering what to do with your important financial documents? Bank-ESB is inviting customers and members of the community to a free Shred Day.

At their local office in Agawam, residents can bring old mail, receipts, statements or bills, canceled checks, pay stubs, or any other unwanted paper documents to be shredded. No appointment is necessary.

The shredding event is set to be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Another free Shred Day will be held on June 22nd at the Easthampton branch.

Shredding events provide the chance for the community to have their sensitive documents shredded immediately. Documents in your best interest to keep include tax records, as experts say you should hold onto your tax records forever. They also say to keep home improvement receipts until you sell your home, and you should wait seven years to shred any other tax records, like tax-related receipts and canceled checks.
