Back-to-school drive seeks to collect supplies for foster kids as school year quickly approaches

(FOX40.COM) — With the first day of school quickly approaching for many throughout the Sacramento area, the Bradshaw Animal Shelter will host a back-to-school drive to benefit foster kids in Sacramento County, allowing them to get the necessary materials for academic success.
A drop-off will be set up at 3839 Bradshaw Road until August 7. Those who donate school supplies at the drop-off will receive one free adoption voucher per family to redeem at the Bradshaw Animal Shelter at a future date.
Among the supplies requested by the shelter are backpacks, composition notebooks, binders, planners, scissors, crayons, rulers, and headphones for Chromebooks.
“Our goal is to collect 100 backpacks K-12,” the shelter said.
