At least one person shot at Benson bar, police confirm

Police officers are investigating a shooting Friday night in Benson.

Benson police confirmed a shooting happened at Big Times Bar & Grill on North Wall Street.

Police said at least one person was shot and taken to the hospital. Witnesses told WRAL News the shooting started after the victim cut the hand of a woman at the bar. The victim and the woman’s husband began arguing.

When the victim raised the knife again, the woman’s husband shot the victim.

Benson police haven’t confirmed what started the shooting, but the investigation is ongoing.
