Are the Colorado Rockies doing better this year?

DENVER (KDVR) — After the Colorado Rockies beat the Boston Red Sox in two of three games at home and scored 20 runs Wednesday night to tie the most runs in franchise history, the Rockies seem to be looking better than last season.

Although, that might not be the case.

The Rockies had a rough start this year after they broke the record for the worst opening day in franchise history, but since then, the team has pulled off some major wins.

In May, the Rockies hit a winning streak that lasted seven games. Meanwhile, in June, the Rockies rebounded to beat the top team in the West — the Los Angeles Dodgers. Despite the big wins, the team is still last in the National League West.

The team just tied the record for the most runs in one game, beating the Red Sox 20-7. However, compared to last year, the Rockies are doing worse.

On July 25 and 103 games in, the Rockies are at 38 wins and 65 losses. On July 25, 2023, the Rockies had only played 101 games and had 40 wins and 61 losses.

Even though the Rockies are on the road to having a worse season than last year, they’re still not the worst in Major League Baseball. The Miami Marlins are only at 37 wins for the season, while the Chicago White Sox are at 27 wins.

Despite the record this season, there are over 50 games left. The Rockies only need to win less than half of the games to beat last season’s final record of 59 wins and 103 losses.

As for if the Rockies will be better this season, it’s still too soon to tell. So far, their record says no, however, anything can happen with less than half of the season left.
