CLEVELAND (WJW) — As if one new giraffe wasn’t exciting enough, the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo announced the arrival of another.
A post on the zoo’s Facebook page introduced Tuli, a 13-year-old female Masai giraffe. Just last weekend, the zoo welcomed 10-month-old Pippi to the herd.
Tuli comes from the Toledo Zoo and even shares some genetics from giraffes that lived here in 1968, “a testament to the longstanding efforts of Cleveland Metroparks Zoo contributing to the endangered Masai giraffe population,” the zoo posted.
You can see Tuli, Pippi, Jada and Rocket at the Ben Gogolick Giraffe Encounter. The giraffes will be outside on dry days with temperatures above 50-55 degrees, according to the zoo.
Lucky for visitors, there are several days this week with warm temperatures expected.
