MacDowell’s eldest child, Justin Qualley, welcomed his daughter with his wife, Nicolette.
MacDowell notably revealed the news of her soon-to-be-born grandchild last June, with a sweet post to Instagram.
“My son plants fruit trees that’s how he has fun,” MacDowell’s post began. “Nicolette and Justin are down to earth in every way. They are always there for their friends and family. Pure goodness in the coolest way!”
She added, “When so much of the world is looking for attention they are looking for each other & are waiting for the perfect gift, their child.

After calling Justin “the best thing that ever happened to me” MacDowell added, “AND I cannot wait to meet my granddaughter!”
When asked by the show hosts what nickname she wants to be called by her granddaughter, MacDowell said she’s undecided.
“She can’t speak yet, but I’m thinking Nana or Grandma – not Granny,” she said jokingly.
MacDowell, who is best known for her roles in films like Groundhog Day and Green Card, is still acting.
She most recently starred in the Hallmark series, The Way Home. She also recently wrapped production on My Happy Ending, a film based on the Israeli play, Sof Tov by Anat Gov. The film also stars Miriam Margolyes, Tom Cullen and David Walliams.
