AmEx is sending notification on the statements that the cards which come with a $10/$25 Uber credit will require putting the Uber ride/meal on an AmEx card in order to use the credit.
Previously it was just a credit to your Uber account, and you could pay the balance with any card you choose. Beginning November 8, 2024, you’ll have to select the AmEx card as the payment option for the balance.
Hopefully it’ll still be possible to use multiple Uber credits on one ride/order when paying with an Amex card for the balance. We’ll see. Hopefully you can still use your Uber gift card balance for the ride and have the Amex card as the backup payment method (?).
